








The Reading Parking Authority is a Municipal Authority whose purpose is to build, manage, and operate all public off-street and on-street parking in the City of Reading. The off-street facilities are both parking garages and surface parking lots. The goal is to provide public parking at a fair price to customers in facilities that are clean, convenient, accessible, in good condition, secure, and safe. All employees are expected to provide professional, impartial and courteous service to citizens and visitors in Reading.
The Reading Parking Authority is a municipal authority incorporated under laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. It was established in 1953 through an ordinance passed by the Reading City Council. The Parking Authority is governed by a five member Board of Directors, three of which must be residents of the City of Reading, that is appointed by the Mayor of Reading. The Board of Directors of the Reading Parking Authority meets on the FOURTH WEDNESDAY of each month to conduct business. The Board will be meeting on the 3rd Wednesday of November and the 3rd Wednesday of December 2013. All previous months will remain at the 4th Wednesday. The Authority is organized in three departments: Administrative, Off/ON-Street Operations, and Maintenance.
